Hobbits in the Teen Scene?The theme for the Summer Reading Program is "Get Creative at Your Library" and a group of teens have been getting very creative in the Teen Scene (lower level). Read about these teens and their project in the Village Soup. Their incredible piece of art will be on display next fall when the Teen Scene reopens. Thursday Night Event BAB'AZIZ: The Prince Who Contemplated His Soul Bab'Aziz - The Prince Who Contemplated His Soul is the story of a blind dervish named Bab'Aziz and his spirited granddaughter, Ishtar. Together they journey for two days through the desert in search of a great reunion of dervishes that takes place just once every 30 years. 6:30 in the Community Room (lower level)  New! One-Stop Map Database Our new map database, AtoZ Maps Online, is a comprehensive resource for students, teachers, and all map lovers. Features include "zoomable" aerial city maps from the 1800s (click image at left to zoom around Gardiner, Maine in 1878) as well as state-of-the-art NASA maps. All of the maps are royalty-free - you are free to print and use them as you wish. This site also contains geography games and resources for elementary grades on up. Access from a home or school PC is possible with your library card--enter your card number in the upper right hand corner.
