Rockland Public Library Endowment Association (R-PLEA)
Mission Statement Encourage donations suitable for attaining the future goals of the Library.
Oversee the management of endowment funds in the best interests of the Library.
Enrich library services by providing special funding for supplemental Library programs and activities.
Serve as a conduit for the proper disbursement of endowment income to the Library.
R-PLEA is a Maine non-profit corporation, organized exclusively for charitable purposes to benefit the Library. It is under the direction of an independent Board of Directors comprised of public-spirited citizens who volunteer their time, energy, and expertise.
Unrestricted donations are allocated to address special current needs as well as long-term goals of the Library. Restricted contributions are used as directed by the donor to support specific activities, such as expanding the collection or special programming. Endowment funds are placed with the Maine Community Foundation for professional investment management.

The Library Needs Your Support!
Your charitable contribution supports the love of learning and the search for information that is at the heart of the Library's mission. Every gift--regardless of amount--helps the Library to provide the strongest resource possible for the community. Here are some of the things you can do to help:
Donations to the Endowment may be of any amount and are fully deductible to the extent permitted by federal law. They may be in the form of cash, gifts of securities, or in selected cases, other gifts of value. Memorial gifts will benefit the endowment and place the deceased’s name on a special plaque within the Library reserved for that purpose. Bequests are a valuable means of enlarging the endowment and they have an enduring value for Rockland’s Public Library and the people it serves.
